My Approach

Dealing with sleep issues can bring parents to the most challenging times in their baby’s and toddler’s lives.

Dealing with sleep deprivation can be a crippling, anxiety inducing, exhausting and frustrating task that at times can seem without solution. I believe in a clear, compassionate and no-judgment approach that's designed to educate, strengthen and empower parents in their journey for better sleep, regardless of their parenting styles. I'd like to change how parents and caregivers think and feel about sleep training and would love to incorporate a more welcoming approach to help parents understand the biology behind healthy sleep.

So much of my philosophy is based with emphasis on self-care, positive thoughts and language. The ability to recognize our needs, boundaries and understanding the foundation of parenthood and the challenges that come with it. I emphasize that having a good perspective on life will bring positive understanding to our needs and ability to balance them out.

About Me

Hello! My name is Izabela “Isa” Kowalsky. I am a certified and trained postpartum doula and a sleep consultant.

Over the span of more than two decades I have worked with hundreds of children, first as a nanny, then as a doula, and finally as a sleep coach.

I primarily work with newborns and toddlers as well as children up to age of 10. I find it incredibly empowering and satisfactory to be able to support, educate, advocate and assist parents in challenges that can arise during this peculiar time of being young parents along with all the difficulties that come about with parenthood.

I am a very science oriented person and through countless books, trainings (here and outside of US) webinars, and classes, I like to continuously educate myself in various approaches and philosophies when it comes to raising and taking care of babies. I'm incredibly open minded to different styles of parenting, different theories in sleeping techniques and weaning. I carry no judgment in parents' needs for help and information.

I do follow guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the World Health Organization and am always on the lookout for new research and findings particularly when it comes to sleep.

There truly is a great feeling of accomplishment that comes with being able to give parents a very deserved restful nights sleep or help them achieve their goals through sleep challenges. There is a tremendous amount of information floating out there today that can be incredibly misleading and confusing. My goal with every parent is to understand their needs, filter through all possible solutions, and recognize the right tools and apply the right approach.

I’m very much appreciative of the opportunity I have had to be able to work with so many children over the years. It gave me a realistic window to all the different types of personalities babies have as well as solid experience and clearness about children’s needs, that no book can give you.

I am no stranger to parenting and want other parents to know I'm here fully to support them and provide them with as many trusted and tested resources as possible. So if you are experiencing sleep issues, I encourage you to reach out to discuss support options.
